How many designs fit on a gang sheet?
A rough guide, with about 0.5" between designs:
| Design size | Per row (22" wide) | On a 22" × 24" | On a 22" × 60" |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3.5" left chest | 5 | about 30 | about 75 |
| 8" youth front | 2 | about 4–5 | about 12 |
| 10" adult front | 2 | about 4 | about 10 |
| 11–12" adult front | 1 (+ small designs beside it) | about 2 | about 4 |
Tall designs take more length, so these are estimates for roughly square designs. Filling the gaps next to big designs with small logos is the easiest way to get more out of a sheet; our layout guide shows how.
Which size should I order?
- Testing a design or one shirt: 22" × 12" or 22" × 24".
- A small team or family order (10–20 shirts): 22" × 48" to 22" × 72".
- Weekly production for a shop or brand: 22" × 120" and up, where the price per inch is lower.
Gang sheet vs transfers by size: a price example
Twenty 3.5" left chest logos ordered by size (3" × 3" at $1.30 or 4" × 4" at $1.75 each) cost $26–$35. The same twenty logos fit on a 22" × 24" gang sheet for $14.40. For one or two transfers, ordering by size is simpler; for many, the gang sheet wins.
